Receptionist: Hi Mam, you want to deposit an account (with a very big shiny eyes) .. Please sit down at the very gorgeous sofa there, and would you like to have any drinks? Tea, coffee, water ?
Me: no thanks...
Receptionist: sure, my colleague will attend to you shortly..

They will promise Heaven with all the angels to accompany, everything is beautiful!

But, if you are trying to refuse their offer, they will keep pushing, pushing and pushing.. until we gave up and say YES!

When you are withdrawing and closing your account, this is raftly what happen:

Walking towards receptionist..

Me: Hi, I would like to close my account..

Receptionist: (not even looking to the customer) There, queue!

**What an excellent english!**

The staff will never offer you any thing, and they will even think that you never exist!

after got my turn:

Me: Hi, I want to close my account!

staff: (not even a smile) IC... oh want the cheque in your own name?

Me: (my heart says **Of Course Idiot**) yes please.. (with the biggest fake smile)

staff: please wait..

Ok, that simple scenario is basically very common in bank, so just relax when that happen.

It's too bad to the bank when they lost a "small" customer, because they never know what's our value is.

Hari ini, Boss traktir lunch Lo!! :D:D

Sbenernya indirectly, Boss mo "buang" voucher yang dia dapet dari Brewekz. Cuman karna mungkin dia ga tau kapan mo pergi lagi, dia kasih vouchernya ke collegue gw, suruh dia arrange lunch buat bareng, bareng. Well, biar Boss ga pergi, it doesn't mean that we can't enjoy khan :D

Makanan di Brewekz emang lumayan, dibilang Excellent, juga ngga, tapi yang pasti makanannya cukup bisa dinikmati.

Pas kebetulan, deket deket tanggal ini ada collegue yang mau Ultah, yah sekalian aja deh dirayain kecil kecilan, makanya ada cake di akhir acara.

Hari ini tanggal 22 November 2011, saat ini temanku yang ada di KLIA, pasti sudah naik ke pesawatnya menuju ke Paris. Bukan maksudku tidak bahagia dengan kepergiannya, namun hatiku sedih karena aku harus melpaskan lagi seorang teman dekat, untuk merantau ke negeri yang begitu jauh.

Bagi Dina, mungkin aku bukan satu satunya teman yang paling dekat, namun buat ku, dia salah seorang teman yang mau mendengarkan, memberi nasehat, dengan gayanya yang boleh dibilang gila, well it’s her!

Dia memang seseorang yang selalu punya ide nekat, yang bias diterima dengan akal sehat maupun tidak, just listen to her, and try to digest her crazy idea, that sometimes it can turn to be realistic.

Beda dengan aku yang selalu berhati hati dalam memilih berteman, dia begitu terbuka kepada siapapun, tidak peduli akan ras, fisik, agama dan gayanya yang seyogyanya dibilang gila oleh beberapa teman, membuat dia menjadi pribadiyang unik, dan tidak mudah terlupakan.

Ia memilih menikahi seseorang lelaki yang notabenenya kurang begitu disukai oleh orang orang, namun ia mampu merubahnya menjadi seseorang yang berbeda hanya dalam kurun waktu beberapa tahun pernikahan… paling tidak, kita tahu bahwa ia telah menikahi seseorang yang benar benar manjadi pengayom rumah tangganya.

Aku betul betul akan merindukannya, namun perpisahan bukanlah jawaban akan akhir hubungan. Hubungan pertemanan kita akan terus berlanjut abadi, walau kita tidak lagi berdekatan.

Nganggur lagi… Kenalan dong

Judulnya rada garing yah… well, sekarang aku lagi mau coba mo rajin nulis blog.

Aku bukan seorang penulis yang rajin, tapi gua sedang berusaha.. yah paling ngga seperti kata orang orang, “mulailah menulis, jadi ga cepetan pikun”

Ga tau kenapa yah, kadang rada mau nyombongin diri dengan menulis blog dengan bahasa Inggris, tapi maklum karena penggunaan bahasa yang terbatas, jadi kadang kalo mo nulis kayanya stuck (*liat inggris lagi) terus.

Ok, aku mulai dengan sedikit cerita tentang diriku sendiri (mumpung, blog sendiri aku tulis aja sepuas hati, yang ga trima siap-siap ada sepatu melayang LOL!!!)

Aku lahir dan besar di Semarang, ibukota Jawa Tengah. Bukan kota yang bisa memberi kesan terbagus, yang akan membuat kita terngiang ngiang untuk kembali kesana, tapi, cukup ngangeni …

Papa, kerja jualan tepung beras, dulu Papa seorang nelayan lho! Pekerjaan yang memang sederhana, tapi itulah yang membuat aku bangga, keluargaku bukanlah keluarga kaya yang bisa membeli apapun yang kita mau, namun Papa banyak mengajarkan kedisiplinan, biarpun hingga kini sebagai seorang anak kita masih saja bandel.

Mama, kerja bantuin Papa, pekerjaan yang serasa mudah tapi sebenarnya ga gampang untuk dilakuin. Selain membantu Papa, Mama juga memasak buat anak-anak, rasanya ga sehebat restoran bintang 5 ataupun hotel kelas kakap, tapi rasanya ngangeni :D

Aku punya 2 kakak laki-laki, namanya Tony, koko pertama, Ronny, koko kedua, dua duanya masih tinggal di Semarang. Mereka berdua bekerja sama membangun sewa internet di Semarang. Bukan bisnis yang besar, tapi masih sanggup untuk mendapat keuntungan :)

Aku sendiri anak terakhir dari 3 bersaudara. Banyak orang yang bilang, kalau anak terakhir selalu beruntung, paling disayang, kalo mau apa dikasih.. tapi tidak dalam kasusku. Papaku, orang yang sangat tegas dalam kedisiplinannya, hal yang paling aku ingat, saat aku umur antara 6 sampe 8 tahun, Papaku selalu “memaksa” anak-anak untuk bekerja biarpun itu hari minggu. Saat anak-anak lainnya masih bisa bersenang senang menonton kartun Doraemon dan Candy-Candy di RCTI, anak-anak papa semuanya harus bekerja, mengepak tepung, jaga mesin paking, dari situlah aku punya rasa “benci” sama Papa, selalu membandingkan Papaku dengan Papa Papa yang lain… maklumlah, kita semua masih kecil, begitu mudahnya kita mempunyai rasa tidak senang dengan orang lain, bahkan ke orang tua kita sendiri… setelah kita dewasa baru kita sadar apa tujuan orang tua kita membuat kita melakukan semua itu.

Ok, aku rasa sampai disini dulu perkenalannya. Sebenernya saat ini aku dalam jam kerja.. maklum pasaran lagi sepi, makanya bisa nulis panjang lebar.

What has yoga do to me...

I have been doing intensive (*not everyday-but going towards there)... I'm still trying hard.

I have known the benefit of yoga from so long, but as usual, to encourage yourself and doing that is not easy... work lah, no money, no fun.. etc etc .. what they call it "Monkey Mind".

Few benefits that I have realized and changed my body will be...

1. I lost weight

Not a tremendous lost weight, but it's just gradually. Story of my own body weight, is really just unspeakable. I made tons of reasons that we need to enjoy, bla bla bla.. but i realized that it did not give me good benefits..

I was totally in stress during a period of 2009-2010, the work, the crazy life style, the bad food i have taken... and all add up into the worst part, which i couldn't control myself, i've been eating and eating bad food... I gain 10 plus kg, i dare not to say the quantity, i reluctant to accept the reality that i'm really gaining lots of weight.

Yoga is not the only factor that I lost my weight, after gone through amway physic test, I really tell myself, and dictate myself to do something. I really need to love myself, not by giving whatever what I want to do, but I need to take care of myself.

I joined amway to consume their supplements, just standard one, that I feel I need to get for my own body.. while the rest, it's all up to me... so I took Yoga.. and I'm in love with it.

I know, this exercise cost money, but I need to realize the benefit for myself.

**FYI, from May 2011, I have lost 7 kg :D:D:D

2. I hardly thinking of going for body massage.

Thosee days, I realize that I always have my body aching.

I carried something that unexpectedly hurt my internal muscle, and then it will go on and on, until I have my body massage done.

but recently, after the yoga, I realzie that although there is some pain, but after doing yoga, the pain gradually gone... it's not a fast relieve, but still! Love it..

Well that's the 2 main thing on what yoga has changed me :D

I hope more to come :D

It was raining all day long, I came here to bring Lihwa's Bday present (still she never told me when is her Bday date, I only know it's on October)
It is where Jason (Jessica, Joanna father) works. The ambiance, it's quite cozy, it's suitable for all the "AngMo" wife's to chill out, or they call it Tai Tai (太太).
She introduced the hot chocolate (yummy yummy) its so suitable for cold day like this..

With watching some American drama about friendship made me wonder and questioning myself, can I be that friend? Do I hv that kind of friend? Or all those in the movie just a movie?!

I remember Lia's statement, few days ago.. I was telling her about how can I hv boyfriend, how should I do it..
She answer to me, "u should work harder?!"
I wonder to ask her, how? What should I do? But seems with a glance of smile she can't answer it..

Back to the movie, in the movie, a friend will tell the friend the truth, telling them at least what sort of advice the troubled friend should do, or consider about...

Well perhaps movie just a movie.. Or maybe I have not found the truth friend.. Or should I really walk alone to find it?!

There were suppose to be a plan.. Meet friend, having dinner together, but it wasn't. So I ended up
Walking from raffles place to city hall... All the picture should be explaining my journey .. ;-)

I am not sure I kinda hooked up, taking picture of MBS and lovely merlion from different angle.
The first few pictures are taken during the journey from One Fullerton to Esplanade.
Today is sunday, nothing much I can do, and complaint... but it is all so crowded everywhere.
But trying to take thing positively.. just enjoy everything.
I did also took the latest Louis Vuitton floating Boutique that was launched yesterday. It was very small (Yes, Indeed I know) but I'll try to capture it in better angle ;-)
After, Just almost reaching City Hall, I got caught up by the barrier for the F1 race next week..they shouldn't blocked the road yet, but indeed they did it.. well I did make U-turn to take the underpass from Esplanade to City Hall MRT.
It brought me to Raffles City chopping mall. There was Puma container, for their involvment to the F1 race. It was quite funny, but smart too, they can promote their branding in a very simple way ;-)
before heading home, I decided to have my dinner... @ delifrance.
I don't know why I pick that Restaurant, but it seems the one that provide light food almost all the outlets in Raffless City.
Well, I chose to eat the baquette and the dessert. It was not excellent, but It was not bad ;-)
After my dinner I decided to go back, with the direct bus from Stamfort Court.

I remember how that day was, every morning I woke up I would be looking to my luggage. All well prepared, jut need to bring them out take and go anytime.
Big bulky bag, that I bought it on a trip to Taiwan-HK. It carried I think almost 30 kg of my stuffs.
I was not sure how I felt that time, confuse, Happy, Sad, everytime I realized that I'm going to leave all my life in Semarang, I'd started to tear up. My family, my friends.. And everything behind.
Those day I'd remember how my mom always open the door of my room and take a peak of what am I doing... I just said I'm gonna be just fine...

Vesak Day 2011

This year basically is the first Year when San San does not join the Vesak day, basically there is some difference in the celebration.

However, I have managed to ask Sabrina and Audrey to come out and celebrate together with me. This also was my first time, queueing the vegetarian meal in the temple :D

The tradition is the same almost every year, whether it was just the less crowd, more crowd, different booth portraying different things.

For this year, the booths are definitely lesser, there are only 2 main booths, 1 is only to show the Dharma classes, and other is selling cup cakes, CDs and some accessories.

opposite booths was distributing the free books.

However, every year is different and enjoyable in its way ...

Hi All, the tittle looks serious, but it's just some pictures that I took during working day to make our day :D

Bits of pieces of Raffles Place during the nite, we can see how quit is this place compare in the morning. Morning is juts like massive attack of human being, but now nite time, is one of the cozy place to hang out, can be free or you can join the crowd with the pub
The Pencil Case designed by my Director's wife, pretty simple. she put it near the wine glasses near the counter. With bit of re-touch, the picture turn to be warm :D

My Rabbit glass, I bought it when I joined the new company. I like the bunny that leap to the glass handle... behind is Mr. Penguin the hand cream, I bought it from trip to KL on March,, Pretty Handy and I like it as decoration on my table.

My meal yesterday was Patty Sandwhich from Subway, I bought it becouse of all my colleague vote to eat there, so I decided to just follow LOL!

A man came home from work late again, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year-old son waiting for him at the door.
“Daddy, may I ask you a question?”
“Yeah, sure, what is it?” replied the man.
“Daddy, how much money do you make an hour?
“That’s none of your business! What makes you ask such a thing?” the man said angrily.

“I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?” pleaded the little boy.
“If you must know, I make $20.00 an hour.”
“Oh,” the little boy replied, head bowed. Looking up, he said, “Daddy, may I borrow $10.00 please?”

The father was furious. “If the only reason you wanted to know how much money I make is just so you can borrow some to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. I work long, hard hours everyday and don’t have time for such childish games.”
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even madder about the little boy’s questioning. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think he may have been a little hard on his son. Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $10.00, and he really didn’t ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy’s room and opened the door.
“Are you asleep son?” he asked.
“No daddy, I’m awake,” replied the boy.

“I’ve been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier,” said the man. “It’s been a long day and I took my aggravation out on you. Here’s that $10.00 you asked for.”
The little boy sat straight up, beaming. “Oh, thank you daddy!” he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow, he pulled out some more crumpled up bills.
The man, seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, then looked up at the man.

“Why did you want more money if you already had some?” the father grumbled.
“Because I didn’t have enough, but now I do,” the little boy replied.

Tiba tiba, seorang kolega begitu marah saat keluar dari kantor bos.

"*abi!"

Saat itu juga, tidak ada orang berkata banyak hal, semua diam.

kolega yang satu ini memang sudah meninggalkan notice, dan hanya akan bekerja selama 2 minggu, tenggat waktu hari terakhir seharusnya minggu depan.

Seperti sikap beberapa ex-kolega yang pernah aku temui di perusahaan perusahaan lain, marah, frustasi.

Namun, tidak tau kenapa ada sedikit hal yang membuatku berpikir, apakah seburuk itukah perusahaan perusahaan yang pernah aku jalani?!

Sekarang aku bagaikan masuk ke "kandang harimau" lagi.

Apakah inikah nasib karyawan? sampai kapankah kita harus melalui ini semua

Tidak ada yang bisa menjawab nya...

apakah kita sebagai pegawai tidak pernah puas dengan apa yang diberikan, apakah yang sudah kita berikan kepada perusahaan setara ataukah timpang?

apabila timpang, timpang disebelah manakah timpangnya?

apakah perusahaan pernah ataukah akan memberikan penghargaan untuk karyawannya yang berjasa, atau kah hanya diam saja saat sebuah perusahaan sukses bersama karyawannya?

entah lah, banyak pertanyaan yang ingin aku dapatkan jawabannya?

Graduate Doraemon: My Gift from my best friend for my Higher Diploma (*Thanks Pio), he always full of smile, never forget t give him Dorayaki, as he is going to be moody if you forgot to give him one :). It came from a bouquet of flower, so actually never look at his buttock as it is un-sealled yet :P

Perbincangan minggu ini dengan siapapun tidak jauh dari apa yang terjadi di negara tempat kelahiranku. Di waktu yang sangat berdekatan, kita mendengar 2 bencana alam yang cukup memprihatikan di bumi Indonesia. Awal minggu ini, tsunami melanda sebuah pulau kecil di Indonesia, bernama Mentawai. Jujur sebagai bangsa Indonesia sendiri, aku kurang mengenal salah satu gugusan pulau yang berada di sebelah barat Padang, Sumatra Barat. Namun setelah bencana alam terjadi, ternyata banyak diantara yang menjadi korbannya adalah para turis asing yang lebih dahulu mengenal kepulauan ini... sungguh malunya aku...

Lalu, bencana kedua terjadi di pertengahan minggu, Gunung merapi meletus dan menghujani seluruh bagian bibir gunung dengan hujan abu dan awan panas yang sama ganasnya, dengan suhu 600 derajat celcius, dengan hitungan detik, dia membunuh siapapun yang berada dibawah awan.

Sungguh tragis apa yang terjadi, membuat kita sadar kita hidup di dunia ini hanya sesaat, tidak ada yang bisa dengan spesifik memberi rambu rambu kapankah bencana alam akan datang, dan mulai menjadi penghancur siapapun yang dunia.

Tiba tiba saja dengan apa yang terjadi, percakapan lebih diselimuti awan mendung, tentang seorang kawannya kawan yang meninggal di usia yang sangat muda sekali. Ia menderita penyakit yang tidak diketahui dokter, namun setelah penyelidikan yang mendalam, itu karena kebiasaan makan mie instant produk Indonesia setiap hari dan menu yang tidak menyehatkan laennya, memperburuk keadaan, membuat usus yang harusnya sehat dan menjadi sarana organ tubuh kita untuk tetap berjalan membusuk tanpa ampun dan akhirnya ia mati muda.

Seorang rekan kerja juga menceritakan bagaimana seorang kawan saudaranya tersiksa dengan kanker stadium 4, seluruh tulang nya yang bahkan sudah tak mampu menopang tubuh yang belum renta-nya menjadi seorang yang lebih buruk lagi dari orang berusia lebih dari 80 tahun, tulangnya bisa retak apabila salah melakukan gerakan, (Dalam hatiku, aku berkata: oh Tuhan, kasihanilah dia), Ia pun meninggal dalam keadaan pesakitan.

Hari ini juga kawan baikku juga menceritakan keadaan seorang pasien dari Yogyakarta, yang sudah dalam keadaan kritis, namun bagai tak rela meninggalkan anak anak nya yang masih berumur 3-8 tahun di Yogyakarta, sang pasien bagaikan mayat hidup yang jiwanya tak rela meninggalkan raga, biarpun keadaan tubuhnya benar benar tidak memungkin kan ia untuk bertahan hidup lagi.

Dari kesemua itu, dalam perjalanan pulang ke rumah, aku tiba tiba bersyukur bahwa aku masih hidup, bernafas dengan bebas. dari situlah aku ingin dan harus mencintai hidupku, di setiap jejak yang aku lewati. Sebagai seorang Buddhist aku percaya bahwa apapun yang terjadi menjadi pelajaran positive, semoga kita bisa mencintai alam, diri kita, orang orang di sekitar kita, karena mencintai diri kita dan semua yang disekitar kita bukan kewajiban namun kerelaan jiwa dan hati.

BK is trying to call the Forwarder of Airfreight, to clarify some questions by our boss.

BK: Wah, that person doesn't want to pick up my call

Me: yeah, he scared of our company phone

BK: ya lo...

after hours...

BK: He really doesn't want to pick up my call, ok, I'll try the colleague

(No one pick up her DID, it was a long waiting..)

Me: I think just try the general line, they sometimes will tell you whether they are around office or not..

*silence... and heard bipping sound of the phone, finally he gave up and tried my idea.

BK: (Customer Service picked up) Hi, can you let me know whether YS is around?

CS: sure, hold the line please..

(the phone was transfer, it takes only 2 rings and YS picked up)

BK: Hi, YS I think your colleague LA afraid to pick my call

YS: not like that lah, he will no longer taking care your account and

(I took break to washroom, and when I came back, BK had picked up the call, instead of using speaker.. as he likes.. and the conversation goes really serious...)

*after a while he put down the phone and I keke to find out what's going on

BK: he is now transferred to another division

Me: Why, what happen?

BK: maybe he is not reaching the expected target, or maybe you complain too much, and that's why he got transfered

Me: (with guilty face) No lah... why me?! T.T

GC: ya loh, complain complain complain...

Me: Ok lo, (with looking at BK's face) next complain, will let you handle lah ...

Well things never happen well in this company.

Doing admin, shipping, coordinating etc etc are really not an easy stuff especially when you are alone.

Today, after a calm lunch, this is short conversation what happen:

SL: Len, don't be angry on what I am gonna tell you

Me: Just tell me...

SL: the shipment from China was delayed because we have never agreed on the payment term

Me: What!!! *cleaning thing on my sight, banging the chair, looking for my name card holder

*everyone was looking at me in very scary way...

*dialed the stupid woman (the forwarder), never pick up call

*call the salesman (also from forwarder), also never pick up call

*I gave up, and took the Director no. and dialed..

Me: Hi Miss AL, *crapping in the greetings

AL: Hi.. Oh you are from that company, anything we can help you?

Me: Ur Customer service by this name has stopped my shipment without my notice, and now this shipment cannot be delayed and has to arrived 21st. *oh my God, i sound like bitch in the fire

AL: Oh ok, I will look into it, and make sure it will be delivered by 21st...

*I was quite surprised she took my call in very calm way... really

*but I am still not in peace!

well after a while, the salesman called

TJ: hi Len, are you calm

LR: NO, I am NOT

TJ: ok, CS has sent you the new itinerary, and we will update you ... bla bla bla

LR: ok, just make sure there is no delay. this is unacceptable.

TJ: ok, bye...

Well, this is what I called crap service, don't tell me your good service if you really cannot execute it!

Lesson Learn: Big company, does not mead they have good service.

What is lucky?

sometimes I wonder, a friend who does not need to do anything but they can get what they want in instance without putting a lot of efforts.

but a friend who has been working so hard, but they still can't get what they want.

why does some people gets so lucky, why some people just really can't get what they want although they have beens struggling in their life.

like what has happen to my friends and me, when we are at the same boat looking for job.

3 of us, here in Singapore, was without any proper pass, just a social visit pass.

3 of us, searching the jobs with the same website, same newspaper.

3 of us, came to Singapore, stays under the same roof.

however, like what people always say, luck is determined by each individual.

2 of my friends got the job almost the same timing, but I had to dismiss myself, and applying for LPR (Landed Permanent Residence) just to get back to this country.

After a while, all I have been through, I have realized that I underestimate myself, that's why I did not have much self confidence, that's how all the jobs also avoiding me.

So now I learn how to take things positively, if I can't get what I want, this may happen for reason, those experience help me to motivate myself to be a better person.

One of the movie that I wanted to watch this year, Jennifer Anniston and Gerald Butler are the main artists, bith of them are my favorite artists. But it turns out to be disappointment.

The main story is about a divorce couple, Jennifer Anniston is a reporter that has escaped bail, and she is involved in an investigation of a suicide case, while Gerald Butler is a Bounty hunter that catch a people who escaped from bail.

The story is a being “forced” to be funny and romantic, but it turns out that they can’t focus in any of area… so spending almost 2 hours and bored.

So I do not recommend to watch this movie in Cinema.

Today is an ordinary sunday, usually morning I woke up about 8am to listen but music and prepare myself to go to temple. But thing kind unusual, that I found out my regular "aunty" has come and visit me this month, and unexpectedly, it was a "painful" visit, I get cramp in my stomach badly, I tried to drink hot chocolate, but it doesn't help much. So I decided, not to go to temple, after my morning bath, I take a nap to reduce the pain, but too bad.. it did not help much.

Well, bearing the pain I buy my brunch, as usual, vegetarian rice and soyabean drinks :D

The funny thing, after I eat my meal, the pain slowly gone... and I felt relieve...

Well, since I do not go anywhere, no plan, the only thing I do is facing my computer and do something with it, surfing Internet, playing games at facebook, listening music from Youtube...

Voila... I stop at the right bus stop :D I can see the bridge just on top of me :D :D (a real double happines!!!)

Getting near to 10 years celebration of freedom

On my way back to my home just now, suddenly I remember that next year will be the 10th year celebration that I started my new journey.

I started on the September 2001 when I reached Xiamen Airport, I have spent 1 1/2 year over there, and that's how I started to learn to be independent, and caring to each other.

In the bus just now, suddenly it popped up in my mind that I will be coming back to Xiamen and see what's going on after I have left this city.

I hope my dream come true, I will be planning for my trip there next year September 2011.

When things happen for good reasons

When problems come by, the only thing we have in our heart is grievances. Sometimes we could not realize what is the reason behind it. After a while, months, years we realize all those things really happen for very good reason which is for our own good.

Like what happen to a close friend of mine in Singapore, She just broke up with her boyfriend due to long distance issue, now in less than 1 month, he has a new girlfriend, leaving my friend in a madness and sadness.

It reminds me when I broke up with my boyfriend few years ago, after I remember all those days with grievances, those leave me with nothing besides anger, I was one of lucky case, at least I had my close friends, my best friend to support me. Now, I realise I learnt from it, I grew stronger, independent, and more careful in every steps I take. I can only say “Thank you for being there when I was not myself those days”.

I might not be the best friend for all my friends with problems, but I can only guarantee, I am here with open hearted will be there for you when you need me.

New Year Resolutions: YEAR 2010

My New Year 2010 Resolutions, I have been planning for a while what am I going to do and the plan ahead for the brand new year. At year 2009, I did not set any of resolutions, stupid reason, Busy! But anyway, we are going to wrap up this year and open up to a brand new beautiful year ahead, and I like this number 2010 (*should I buy 4D number?!).

Eniwei, at year 2008 some of my resolutions did not fulfilled although it is extended to 2009. Some resolutions fulfilled,like:

1. Take French course, yes indeed I did, but I quitted after almost a year

2. Love myself, I did and I have started to love myself after, things really get better after I continue to love me. But this is the resolutions that will never be stricken out from my list, and it’ll get specific (HO.. HO.. HO..)

3. Get a boyfriend.. this to yet to be fulfilled, and it will still be continued and renewed :D

4. Then I forgot what’s the next one, cause I need to disassembly of all the stars that I have made at the little starbuck bottle.

Well after you the resolutions 2008-2009, here we come year 2010 resolutions (*drum noice)

1. Love myself, more facial as everyone knows since how many years in Singapore, I have this terrible issues with my face, and my hair… after the re-bounding, the hair never bound together with the natural hair that I used to have… eat more healthy foods fruits and beverages

2. Find a very Good Job, it’s been a while after my jobless days, so I need to work things out, will find a job that suits me, learn more from seniors (*please don’t be stubborn!!!)

3. Find a true love, YES… It was sat my previous year resolutions, but indeed, I haven’t found one to share with… but anyway, I am also enjoying myself being single too. For men out there, I am a single, simple and ridiculously funny too, but I can be serious too :D

4. Being healthy and healthier, erm, this time I pick swimming, jogging and yoga (*but last options seems to be very expensive, anyone has “lobang” for the cheapo yoga class?)

5. Going out more with family and friends, take more pictures with them, life is very PRECIOUS to be kept alone. (Ya ya I know, I’m still amateur photographer, but I’m trying now :D)

The Plan (Months before the October)

One day in a bus, I received a message from unexpected ex-classmate, Mou Wei @ Patty. She asked me whether I could make a visit to Shanghai or ChongQing for her wedding. I was in complete shock!

"Mei mei (*that's what we call her in College), is getting married?!"

Well, I have never expected that soon, cause looking at her appearance, she's not a person that'll be married so soon.
(*story lesson, never judge book by it's cover)

Despite the surprise, I was happy as well, because she's a nice little girl but bit "man" lah.

So when I asked her when it's going to be, she mentioned October, but things had not been confirmed at her side, so I told her to keep me posted.

Months passed by and She had not given me any news yet, so I tried to message her.

It took her days to replied me, the wedding date in Shanghai will be on the 4th October in Shanghai, the ChongQing wedding reception had not been confirmed so far.

With that news, I started to look around prices and travel agents, to get the best bargain.

I promised my self to go, since I have never been to Shanghai, and I owed Mei Mei tons of favors when I was in college, this means nothing much to me.

I asked my friend who currently stayed in Shanghai to study, whether he would be there during my visit or not, but the answer was he might be still in Indonesia for school holiday, so I have to create plan B, which is following Tour.

5 weeks before departing

That day was 15 August, after the Booze Wine Shop Head Quarter opening, Li hwa brought me to China Town to check on the Tour package or even free and easy.

The plan is leaving Singapore 1st October, coming back on the 7th or 8th October. Which is mean, I would pass the Chinese PRC Independence Day. Most of the tour agency that we went offering 8 days tour, but I could not even skip a day to go to Mei Mei wedding, so what's the point here?!

So I put aside this issue as I was scared to go alone, in a stranger land. But I promised myself, that I will be going to Shanghai.

4 weeks before departing (What?!)

Xue Hua asked me via MSN about my plan to Shanghai, and I have not even bought the ticket yet, so I told him about my plan and the tour. Surprisingly, he told me that he will be back to Shanghai on September, a month before my visit. So, I was relieved and I said to myself, you can go ahead with the plan!!!

3 weeks before departing (The thrill of China Town)

One day in weekdays, I went to China Town after my working hour, and I went in to the tour agency that Lihwa introduced to me, but they offer me bout S$700 ++, that expensive, so I made a little consideration while waiting for Li hwa at the 1st floor of the building.

While I was waiting for her in the building, an uncle kept looking at me, I was drinking my tea and looking for a rubbish bin after I finished my drink. He suddenly called me from far, and told me where is the rubbish bin, I felt strange... so I just told him thank you, and throw my rubbish to rubbish bin that he showed me, but he followed me, I saw him bout 2 meters away from me, and he was watching me.

I came back to the place that I promised Li hwa to meet me, that fella he was pretending to look around while he was looking at me. I called Li hwa to come soonest as she can.

Minutes by minutes passed by, that fella was keep looking at me, but I pretended to know nothing bout it. Then Li hwa called and she was asking where is my location cause she has arrived at Chinatown station, so I quickly walked as fast as I can, but trying not to be too obvious that I was scared, and I still saw him following me, but he kept his distance.

After reaching main gate, I saw Li hwa and quickly drag her to the MRT station. I told her everything and she told me not to be so scared, cause they only look for a single girl, not person with friends around them.

2 weeks before departing

I went to China Town in the weekend, this time I went to another building that's been my favorite, not as thrilling as the previous place I visited.

I knew there is some Tour agency around the building, so when I visited one of it, they offer S$600 for the ticket and including the visa fee will be S$630, so I took it and confirmed everything.

But that's not the end, my family called me and they said they will be visiting me during Raya, which fall nearby with the date that I would be visiting Shanghai, but my family is important to me, and my father was in the well stage.

so I was in the dilemma, should i continue my journey to Shanghai?!

Actually, I did not have much time to go, but the team said, it might be the last time that we will be having dinner with me. Bit in dillema, but I had to go.

Going Through Challenging weeks

Apart of many expected events during my last week in my last company, I have a new trainee to trained as well.

When I came back from my Shang Hai, I had expected that I need to cover NC's job, so... I will need some time to just take care of my marketing staff for the events 19-23 October. There were some changes expected as well, especially the Wine Dinner at Krish, It has not been confirmed!!

On the Wednesday, 14/10/09, when I completely forgotten that I need to deliver the wines to Temasek Poly, Andy informed me that packing slip received, then I went in and checked the shipper... Oh My GOD, some wines were not generating packing slip... SO! I tried my best to settle myself, till I gave up and I reported it to SF and CH, they are the only person that I can refer to if any system issue.

So after the Operation meeting, and slight of complaint ... SF still yet to come to my table, and I finally chased her in this issue, coz I need to deliver it!!! I can't just deliver some wines only!!!
SF said, she tried to settle with CH, and SCH made the follow up and went through the "things" ... until SF told me, why don't you just re-keyed in the wines, if it doesn't work, I need to let her know... after made changes, finally, Andy said he received it... So releive No.1! :D

But I can't be to happy yet!!

SF and Rina involved in The Golf Tournament at Tanah Merah CC. So Vermilion's events and Booze events "Pao Ka Liao" in a week!!

Rina asked me to prepare the wine tags for the events, which I delayed it as I tried to find time to do it... few hundreds wine tags were done, for the Vermilion team. The best part, when I have done it, Penny told me, that I shouldn't follow those details from system, which it has been keyed in by Procurement Dept... URRGH!! Changed again... so while I was doing the Vermilion's, so I went and did Rina's event's wine tags... 130 pieces each!!

Then, the team made changes with some wines that "should" be fine from the agreed one... I was scared to imagine, how many orders' that I had to make...

Well... the week changed, new person that come to replace me need to get some training, no one even give me any computers to use... so another challenge..

Running order, train the new trainee, coordinating marketing events!! Oh GOSH!! I felt like I was loosing my breath!!

But well, yesterday the week was over, I will miss what I have learnt there, the people, the wines too!

The Vermilion team even gave me the "unexpected" present, Swarovski crystal Handphone accessories, I was so touched.

Jakarta oh Jakarta...

Jakarta... ternyata tidak semegah yang aku bayangkan. Setelah keluar dari kawasan Bandara Soekarno-Hatta, masih banyak kulihat perumahan yang berbaris di dua sisi jalan, jalan yang rusak parah, aku merasa berada di atas laut terombang ambing tanpa henti. Ruas jalan yang hanya untuk satu mobil, menjadi jalan 2 arah. Mobil terus mengarah ke sebuah kompleks perumahan, yang sebenarnya banyak ditemui di kota kota lain yang pernah kukunjungi. Lalu kusadari, Jakarta hanya sebuah kota yang tidak lain sama dengan kota kota lainnya, hanya saja kemegahan yang disodorkan serasa hampa di mataku.

Rumah Ko A Pue, sebuah rumah kecil, memiliki dua tingkat, halaman rumah digunakan sebagai tempat parkir mobil. Ku lihat, jemuran baju besi yang menganggur, dan sedikit tanaman yang ditanam dekat pintu gerbang rumah. Kudengar alunan musik dangdut dari 1 atau 2 rumah sebelah kiri rumah Ko A Pue, speaker karaoke yang begitu keras memekakkan telinga, namun itu semua tidak aku gubris, karena aku masih diantara kegalauan hati, meninggalkan keluargaku di Semarang.

Seorang gadis, berkulit cokelat, berambut pendek, mirip potongan seorang laki laki keluar membukakan pintu gerbang, kami-pun masuk ke dalam rumah. Bukan sebuah rumah yang begitu besar, masuk dari pintu aku sudah bisa melihat dapur yang hanya berjarak kira2 3 meter dari tempat aku berdiri, di sebelah kiri, sofa yang tidak sepadan pun terhampar di ruang tamu yang luasnya 1x2 meter, sebuah TV dan beberapa foto foto keluarga yang menghiasi ruang tamu.

A So, itulah panggilan istri Ko A Pue, ia membawa ku ke kamar di lantai atas, di dalam kamar yang dipasang pendingin, bahasa kerennya AC, membuatku merasa terkagum kagum, sebab hingga kini kamar rumah di Semarang tempat ku tinggal tidak ada satu alat pendingin yang terpasang di rumah, hanya kipas angin yang meredamkan panasnya suhu udara di Semarang.

Malamnya, Ko A Pue, menjamu Papa dan aku di sebuah restoran berjarak 20 menit mengemudi dengan mobil, masih tetap melwati jalan yang membuatku bisa mabuk laut walaupun di jalan darat. Sesampainya di restoran, yang aku lupa namanya, ia memiliki lapangan parkir yang luas, restoran ini memiliki dua bagian, sebelah kanan merupakan sebuah gedung biasa, yang dimana tidak kumasuki, sebelah kiri bangunan itu, ada sebuah bangunan kapal. Sang pelayan menawarkan tempat duduk lesehan, dan menu.

Saat itu Papa dan Ko A Pue memulai pembicaraan mengenai apa yang akan aku lakukan di China, semua percakapan dalam bahasa Hokkien, dimana aku hanya bisa kumengerti, namun tidak bisa mengatakan sepatah katapun. Ko A Pue mulai menanyakan kesediaanku akan melanjutkan belajar di Luar Negeri, dimana tidak ada keluarga yang ada disana yang menjadi tempat bersandar... aku tidak tahu harus menjawab apa apa, karena pikiranku kosong, tidak ada jawaban yang keluar dari bibirku, tiba tiba karena pertanyaan itu, aku mulai mengatakan pada diri sendiri, "apakah aku siap?"

Malam mulai gelap, akhirnya kita memutuskan untuk pulang ke rumah setelah makan malam, mengingat Papa dan aku harus ke Bandara paling tidak 2 jam sebelum waktu penerbangan. Di dalam mobil, pertanyaan demi pertanyaan terus datang di kepalaku. Aku ragu, bingung.

What Happen in a Year: New Job

Again, I've been absence and leaving my blog away, reason, NO TIME.

I remember someone always remind me: "Lenny, when you have no time, make time for it"

Which I believe that's true. So here we go, I am trying to update my blog, althought, usually this time I probably on my way to "Dream Land".

How I started it

As I have told you all before, I just got a new job, same post different trading industry, different people.

Location of my new office is at Jalan Besar, if you don't really know, you might know Sim Lim Tower, if no, Sunge Road? If you still don't know, do not bother to understand the location, just read the story :D

Oh... sorry, I need to tell you all that it is located at Little India shop houses, I sawa someone said "Yes, I know where is Little India!!" But you are wrong, It's few blocks away.. AHA!!

Located at the 3rd floor, I remember the Pantry Aunty, who finally I know her name is Hing Ah Noi, but I still call her Aunty :D, she opened the door for me, and asked me to sit at the dining table (It was there last time, trust me!!), she called SN, the HR who called me the day before.

The Aunty, offered me a drinks, as usual with very courteous, I rejected her offer. Sylvia came out from the left side of the office, and she asked me to write the application form, printed at Khaki coloured A3 paper, there is grapes picture inserted there.

The living room is huge, filled with big sofas and a dining table with few chairs, a HiFi, map of some wineries, few dummy bottles... I could not remember most of the things, since the office faced facelift so many times.

I got that job immediately after I finished my Interview with SF, the CEO. I was assigned to work the next week.

When I started work, I met SC, the person in-charge with the same post as me. She, that I thought had experience in the company, she started work less than a month before I came. So it was my first surprise in this company.

After a while, I met people like PW, LC they have been worked more than 3 years in a company. But most of them only new comers work approximiately a year to more than a year plus.

I notice most of the girls hired in the company are pretty. A week after I joined then only I met ET, the owner and the Director of the company, my questions were answered.

He is in his 30 plus and just finished his re-service. My first meeting with him, was, when I was having late lunch at the pantry, I saw a man wearing brown T-shirt, which represent he's a delivery man, just came out from Army... and that day, SC told me she is expecting a delivery man to collect some wines from our office. So I opened the door for him, and I asked him, "are you the person to collect the wines?"
He took his hand out and shake my hand and replied me, " I'm the Boss of this office"
I was stunned for a while, and I replied him, "Oh... welcome back!!"

That how I met my new Bos.

In less than a month, SC left, I was quite surprise because I knew about it from MT, the new Logistic Managers, not from SC herself.

At that point suddenly I remembered what my Ex-Boss told me, in a company people come and go, with or without good reason, that's how company flows, and they have to move on.

After being alone, at my post, with PW's help, NC came posted for the new brand called Vermilion, it will be launched April 2009.

After almost half year, I realised the amount of people leave the company was way too much. Sfter SC left, it follows by 2 Sales Agent J, and C. After Chinese NY, CC left with a drama between ET and her, following the months JW left, followed by MT, JT, and JS, then followed by JOCh. After June, SN, NS...

How I Ended it

After long consideration, unhappiness, pretending to be fine but not. I decided to leave this company. My main reason, I am not HAPPY at all!!

People just being 2 faces along this company, and they survive, but people like me... I am not a person with that capability, to just lie and pretend nothing is happen. After the "Big" event, I realised that this is not a company worth to stay too long. I was so angry, to myself to put it why I did want to sigh the confirmation when I am not happy?!

But things happen for a good reason. I learnt to love myself more, being happy with what I have, realising that life is not always beautiful. I met new friends, learning who is only colleagues.

Well, I am counting down to my last day. Next week will be my last, and I will say no more to this company.

The Journey Begin: Xiamen 1

Setelah beberapa lama absen di dunia blogging-an, jadi rasanya kangen buat mencurahkan isi hati lewat blog.

Ngga brapa lama lalu aku baru saja pulang dari perjalanan di Shanghai. Balik lagi ke negeri Panda ini membuat gua tiba tiba inget masa lalu saat bersekolah di Xiamen.

Buat aku Xiamen merupakan tempat dimana perjalananku dimulai, kalo ada kalimat pengandaian, Xiamen merupakan garis start dimana aku mulai untuk berdiri sendiri. Memang saat belajar, apapun yang aku butuhkan masih disiapkan oleh orang tua ku.

Awal perjalanan 9 September 2001.

8 September 2001
Tiket yang dipegang Papa menandakan aku harus berangkat dari Semarang menuju Jakarta tertanggal 8 September 2001, penerbangan pukul 3 siang.

Aku ingat saat itu, hatiku tidak keruan, senang, sedih, bingung. Aku duduk di depan pintu lemariku, pas disebelah kasur tempat tidurku. Aku melihat tas bagasiku yang begitu besar, aku bingung, apakah persiapanku cukup, setiap jam aku sempatkan melihat isi koperku yang bisa diperpanjang, yang kulihat tas itu begitu besar, sidah diperbesar paling penuh, 3 resleting besarnya. Mama sesekali masuk menanyakan, apakah aku baik baik saja. Secara sembunyi sembunyi, beliau memberiku uang dari Rupiah, US Dollar dan sebagainya. Beliau hanya memandangku, aku tahu tatapan itu, seperti tatapan yang sebenarnya tidak menginginkan anak perempuan satu satunya pergi jauh dari pandangan matanya. sesekali aku ke dapur, Mama sudah menyiapkan beberapa makanan kesukaanku, bakpao cokelat yang aku suka dari Pasar Gang Baru, Korket, sate babi dan lain lainnya. Sesekali beliau menanyakan, "sudah laper belum me, mamah sudah beli makanan di dapur", ku jawab dengan nada tegar, " sudah Mah, nanti kalo laper aku pasti makan."

Kakak tertuaku, Tony, juga sesekali masuk, bertanya apakah aku baik baik saja. Selalu ku jawab, baik baik. Meski kutahu, ia bisa melihat kebingungan, kesedihan di mataku.

Waktu berganti waktu, tiba saatnya aku berangkat. Aku ingat, Poki, saudara sepupuku mengendarai mobil Karimun, aku duduk di depan, Papa, A Ku (sebutan Paman untuk kakak dari Ibu di bahasa Hokkian) duduk di belakang, Mama tidak berani mengantar karena aku tahu pasti beliau sedang menangis di dekat meja Sembahyang.

Tony, dengan mengendarai sepeda motornya menyusul ke Bandara Ahmad Yani, Semarang. Di dalam mobil, aku hanya terdiam tanpa bicara. Rasa bingung, takut menyelimuti perasaanku saat itu. Papa, A Ku sedang membicarakan dimanakah letak Xiamen, bahasa apakah yang digunakan, apa yang akan aku pelajari disana. Namun aku terdiam...

Sesampainya di Bandara Ahmad Yani, tak berapa lama Tony datang, mengucapkan selamat jalan dan sukses... Papa dan aku masuk ke ruang Check in, A Ku, Poki dan Tony ikut masuk di ruangan tunggu yang saat itu pengunjung tanpa boarding pass boleh masuk dengan membayar sejumlah tiket.

Pesawat Garuda yang begitu gagah itu serasa mengatakan, "Nona kecil, inilah saat nya untuk menjemputmu ke tempat baru."

Saat pesawat mulai terbang meninggalkan Bandara, tiba tiba tanpa kusadari air mataku mulai membasahi pipiku... aku takut mengatakan ke Papah, kalau sebenarnya aku takut sendirian, di negeri yang tidak kukenal, aku bahkan tidak tahu dimana letak Xiamen, aku tidak pernah mendengar ada kota dengan nama itu di pelajaran Geografi yang pernah kupelajari di SMP ataupun SMU.

Tepatnya pukul 5 sore, aku sampai di Bandara Soekarno-Hatta, Jakarta. Disambi hati yang kalut, Koh Ah Pue, saudara Sepupuku yang tinggal di Jakarta, sudah di depan pintu jemputan, ia mulai membawa koperku yang begitu berat ke dalam mobilnya. Papah dan aku akan tinggal di rumahnya semalam, sebelum penerbangan panjang ke Xiamen ke-esokan harinya.

Ko Ah Pue dan istri menjemput ku di Bandara Soekarno-Hatta. Boleh dibilang, itu pertama kali aku keluar dari habitat di Semarang, di tempat aku merasa nyaman bersama keluargaku, tidak ada rasa lapar, sedih, apapun yang kumau semuanya selalu tersedia.

Keluar dari Bandara Soekarno-Hatta, aku melihat Gapura yang begitu besar, ditengah tengahnya berdiri sebuah patung Garuda megah serasa angkuh, dan seakan akan mengatakan "Selamat Datang Ke Jakarta!".

Well, when you thing Singapore is small country, it’s true. But don’t think small city is always less people.
Previously, I took my chance to study in Library, it’s worse than theme park. Today, lala… I’ve got to go to Hospital for the first time in Singapore, what a chance! Well, it’s still full!!! I was waiting for almost 2 hours just to get the service.
So don’t ever underestimate the power of small city!!!

New Resolutions

Wow, it’s been a while since I stopped writing my blog, anyway Happy New Year & Happy Chinese New Year to all... and today is “Cap Go Meh” Celebration which is “Valentine’s Celebration in Chinese Calendar”. So I believe it’s not too late to have new resolutions in “Ox-picious” year.

1) I will be a positive person and I will never be pessimistic like how I used to be, as we know how I always look thing in negative way first than the positive point-of-you, and I promise myself I will be better.

2) No more swearing words!!!!! That’s important to be positive…

3) I will start a healthy lifestyle; I will control my diet, not too much sugar, preservative, fried food and other un-healthy food. I will start all over again my Yoga Class, and join sport activity, swimming or other activities…

4) I will start to “pretty” myself, by starting to love my skin, my look & appearance…

5) I will start new relationship with more friends and I will have someone to lean on :X

6) I will go holiday with my parents & family

7) I will start again my French class & travelling with my great photography hobby.

That’s all my resolutions this year, I hope that everyone will be happy always, free from danger and enmity, free from physical suffering and mental suffering

Chinese New Year Plan

While everyone is planning their Christmas and New Year… I have plan my Chinese New Year (Oh gosh… I think I’ve affected by “Kia-su” habit here!!)

Everyone is planning to go back, but I have slightly different plan from others. I am not saying I am not celebrating it, but I just really don’t know what to do if I go back my hometown while my

parents is working. I only plan to go back to my hometown during Idul Fitri (Islamic New Year), so I can bring my parents outstation, Bali/Lombok perhaps?!

My plan during Chinese New Year is Belitung. I am so in love with Andrea Hirata’s book – Laskar Pelangi, which he described Belitung in beautiful, literally, untouched island.

The story was started from a simple up to a great complicated war situation in Burma, and surroundings, finding a true love, integrity and happiness, sadness all blended in to a great fine story.

I was stunned, but i think it’s right, that we can only plan today, but what happen tomorrow we can only see it tomorrow.
Anyway, with November is here, i have short of plan ... this resolutions only applicable for Month of November until February or March Perhaps.
Tata... here it comes:

1. Get a new job, It has to be better than the previous one (better money, colleagues, and experience)

2. Planning ahead my trip to Pulau Belitong, I’m very excited since I’m so in love with Laskar Pelangi by Andrea Hirata...

3. Move from my current house, to the nearest working place

4. Get more charity work

5. Motivated the motivation in Photography... buying new lense 70mm-200mm

6. Be proactive in looking for money... (Planning ahead to continue study in France... wish me luck!!!)

7. Be Happy, Happy, Happy Always

Sian Ing’s Wedding

The Wednesday, two days before my depart from Singapore, Ellisa “My Daughter”, she asked me out to have dinner with her friend and her boyfriend Jo. I don’t know since when, Wednesday has become our “Dating” day, it just happens that we meet every Wednesday, and if we try to meet up other day, it turns to No-Show by one of us.

We met up at Tangs, but since she was not there so I went around as normal try to only do “Window Shopping”. Suddenly I remember that Yue Feng told me that she bought a dress from Tangs, so I kind of attracted to go and visit the women’s clothings. I looked at 1 stretch of cloths at one of the outlet, so I tried two dresses while waiting for “My daughter”. In less than 15 minutes, and I have met my daughter, I really like one of the dress, and my daughter told me it was nice, and suddenly I remember I did not have a dress for Sian Ing Wedding. After dinner I wontinue my “little” shopping with Helen, My Daughter’s friend, and I got 1 pair of heels.
On the day of Sian Ing’s, I woke up at 8 AM. I just kept watching TV and do nothing at my Parent’s bed. As I know the wedding will be at 12 PM at one of the Pringgading Church. After 11 AM, I was thinking to call Grace, what time we can meet up out there. She did not reply my call, my message. So I decided to call Eka, she suddenly surprised me with her answer that the wedding is at 11 AM not 12 PM… but I need to confirm, Oh Gosh, I must be blur by not seeing the right figure!

Eka suggested me, to go right now, at least the church ceremonial had finished, and I could join the buffet lunch. Oh Gosh! What in The World I did!

So I rushed my self, without preparing anything… I just took off the price tag of my new dress, and wore the heels, after everything done, I prepare some money for the wedding in “angpao”. After that, I walked out took a “becak” heading to the church.

When I reached the church, there was one red car with pink ribbon waiting in front of the church, and I thought the church ceremony was still going on. Nervously, I called Grace, and she told me to wait in front of Sian Ing’s office, because those stays in the church just the bride & grooms family taking picture. So I took my chance just to glance through the church… and Sian Ing looks different from, her wedding dress was so simple, and her red lipstick was so stricking, even it’s from far… but anyway, it’s her Big Day!

And after that I went out and looked at Grace & her hubby was out side Sian Ing’s office where it’s just located few steps from the church. The first sentence I told Grace was, “Oh My God, It’s so difficult to contact you…!”

So the simple party started when the red car with the pink ribbon arrived in front of her office. Her family and her husband’s family went in to the main rooms, and they started to pray. Grace, her hubby and me were outside and chatted outside. I was happy, I met an old friend that never we never met after more than 8 years. After the “Big STEP” I took by leaving the company, I felt relieved and still not sure what I’m gonna do after this. I never plan anything actually, not even back to my hometown. it’s just suddenly one of my close friend from Semarang messaged me about her wedding on the 19th October, without thinking clearly I called my parents and tell them that I MIGHT be coming back to my hometown first.

Indeed, I reserved my ticket on Monday, took my ticket on Tuesday… I met Eva, my ex-housemate who’s working at Garuda Indonesia, I could call her but I did not wish to bother with my problems. Surprise I bought my ticket for Friday night… what a sudden decision!
But anyway, maybe I need rest from the hectic world in Singapore, and I will meet my friends from my hometown. After everything decided, I messaged Pio and I told her that I would come back to Semarang, she was pretty excited and she suddenly told me that she might be in Yogya on the day that I arrived and she will come to visit me for few days there… What A sudden Surprise!

But instead of that I’m scared that I might not satisfy her with my hospitality, since I know not much of my hometown, after I realized. But anyway, I cross my finger and try my best

Just reach my home town last night, surprisingly the flows of the Immigration was very fast. I was sad because I have left my job, but I have to do something because I could not stay in a place that I don’t really love. I don’t know how I can make myself happier, I don’t know how to express my feelings right now… and I never know.

Another 3 days more to go... things are getting crucial where no one even want to think of taking of my job. However, I have to take some consequences that I have to work ‘till my last day of work. Anyway, this is my first job, for better or worse the experience has taught me to be better, although I was struggling to be happy. It’s not the job fault, like Mr. Foo said: It’s all about YOU!

I just hope the best for this company and my colleges (soon to be ex-colleagues)

On Friday, we were just discussing about Aaron’s interest on Youtube, especially on Techno and oldies...

I don’t know how, but suddenly I remember one of pianist while we are talking about music at Youtube, Maksim Mrvica.

he’s one of my favourite pianist, he plays like a mad man, but excellence result. So finally I got the URL and add in the “Flight with the Bumble Bee”. This music brought him to fame. First I saw him on Malaysian television, he was so humble and he did not mind eating local market food.

Somewhere somehow, once all i keep adding my Youtube with Maksim video, and I will buy his CDs, although it’s pretty late. But I always believe classical music is perpetually long lasting in our ears and mind like how good food taste longer in our tongue.

Ramadhan Week... On & Off

Hermph... Falling sick in the holiday season, is definitely so NO No for me... but I still fall sick. Monday, I got headache, and I could not walk properly... and I promised San San to get MC... but anyway, I was really sick!

So after rest for a day, I went to work (I got actually 2 days MC ... Just because I had to finish my work I had no choice!)

But the sarcastic question from my boss has increase my “angry” volume ... but I tried to keep myself steady

Boss: “Are you really sick?!” – making suspicious glance through me...

Me: (Dugh!!!!!) “Bos, can you see from my face?!”
Boss: “Who Knows!!”

Me: “(Walauuueeee!) Anything you say a” –rool my eyes and quicly walk out from his office...

The next day was Idhul Fitri Celebration... so what I did was giving myself a great present “A DSLR Camera!” ... as usual what i did went around Funan IT Centre and just walk, without any destination while thinking what brand of Camera would I buy, so after 2 hours walking, I decided to make a stop at Harvey Norman... and ask them, what kind of camera should a beginner try?! The man has encouraged me buying Canon, before that I actually asked Alex Leow – my prudential advisor – for advice – btw he’s freelance photographer, he asked me to choose Canon, none of people confince me to us Olympus... maybe if i came back to my Photography workshop I will be buying the Olympus. But anyway, I am so happy and at least I can start to learn my basic photography

Today, my boss started to “heat” me up with bloody question:

Boss: “Lenny, you thought that you will end your work here at the 16th, it was wrong you know. Joyce has just counted for me that you should end your work... on the 17th. You know this is HR, she’s specialist in HR, and this is how they count, if you ask other HR company, they will give you the same answer”

Me: “but I have put in the letter that starting from that day in the letter mention, I will resign, and it supposed to be counted”

Boss: “No, this is how HR work, they will not count the day that you submit the letter”

Me: “Do I have a choice?!” – with bloody mad tones !!!

(Cutting my sentence as usual!!!)

Boss: “Look... I want you to know, it’s not a choice ...

Me: “Do I have a choice... (putting a stronger sentence!)”

Boss: “Look... We want you to know....

(Look what ... your butt!)

Me: “Anything you say lah... anyway, I don’t have a choice right!”

Boss: “So, will you be in Singapore after you are not working?” with unhappy tones... changing the bloody topic

Me: “why, I’ll be on and off... not confirmed when I’m leaving lah”

Boss: “we need to know whether you want to be at Singapore or not, so when we send the salary you still receive!”

Me: “Mr. Foo... when you ask me this kind of question, I will answer you ASAP!”

(The Fire is burning in my nose and my head! I got flu today ... again!!)

Boss: “We need to know whether you are going to be in Singapore or not... you know our company, it takes time to process...”

(What a company... HR also doesn’t know how to do work!”

Me: “I know this company, but as I will answer you ASAP!”

Boss: “Ok, I will inform the HR to process ASAP!”

Me: “Nothing more right... ok, goodbye” – Quickly walked out from the bloody room...

My good mood turned sour every time he asked me the idiot question... what kind of question to ask “when are you leaving Singapore, so we can prepare the salary for you!”

Conclusion: Thank God, I’m leaving this company... I know I’m going to miss some of my collegues, and I might meet worse terrible people outside this “comfort” but I take it as lesson. I’ll have to make fast decision!

This afternoon I had my lunch outside… I was too stressed in the office, I wanted to break free! So I joined Aaron & Steven for the lunch. once we arrived, we met the Salesmen, Anna, Melvin & William who had just finished their lunch. after all of us finished our food, we sat down there for a while, and had some chats about a lot of thing. They discussed about topics from my newspaper (*finally I bought newspaper!!

After a while finally, Melvin was talking about his problem with his wife where is going to end soon. They are fighting the custody of their only son. I was wondering, is there any other way than divorce? Or maybe that’s the only way to resolve their problem? Question is where is the commitment before the wedding bell rang? Why only now, when they have a son, and then they decided to let go the love?

Or maybe I’m too naïve in love or yet to get the pictures of marriage life? Well, God knows?! We can only plan, hope and pray…

Wish the best for Melvin & family… and everyone I know or not know, to be happy always.

Yoga Class Today

I’m trying to discipline myself with following the Yoga Class every weekend, at least. So as usual, everytime I join the class I never forget to check who’ll be the next Yoga teacher that day… for info, I Collete is my favorite teacher, she’s very patient in teaching and always show us how to do at the first place before we do the movement.

However, I always try to avoid Tane, she used to be the worst, the fastest, and she only talks when she’s teaching and she never shows us the movement before us.

But today, I’ve forgotten to check who’s the teacher today… or maybe they put the schedule earlier… once I arrived to the studio, I just check and see who’s the teacher… and Voila! Tane’s the one! T.T

So I tried to calm myself down and told myself, don’t let her let you down, “You Can Do It!”
After few minutes “You Can Do It Again Lenny!”

And the Class began… only 7 students in the class, so it pretty easy for her to spot every student mistakes… and I was shocked when I did mistake, she called my name… and asked me to correct it… “Mon Dieu, m’aidez!”

But anyway, it was great today… I think I’m going to change my mind about her… but still I try to avoid her as my Yoga teacher.

Yeppie… Another 42 days I’ll be working at my current company from today. I feel like my day is getting better and better… Oops, I hope no one in my current company is going to check my blog. Hahaha…

Not going to give so much details from A-Z but pretty interesting pictures that I took, started from when I stepped out from my home until I got out from office, maybe perhaps closed by my little dinner :P

I just realized my neighbors’ have sense of Gardening, although most of the flowers were not those very sophisticated and expensive, but I found it quite impressive they can manage to plant some flower on the highest floor. With my (amateur) sense of photography I took some pictures of these…

After finishing my French Class, I decided to go somewhere to have my dinner, but after a long walk from Dobby Ghaut until Bencoolen I decided to take only dessert at Monster Ice Cream at Bencoolen building which the shop is almost close, but kind waiter still allow me to order. Although the shop is already closing they still allow a couple to buy their dessert. I like their dessert and it's all fresh Fruits. I took my Mix Fruits with Mango Ice Cream.

Machiato Double Shot

After working 1 year plus at the same Company selling coffee, finally I found out and I tasted what is the difference between Machiato and Cappucino

Cappucinno is a type of coffee added with Milk and Froth Milk, basically, in 1 cup of Cappucino, the coffee only quarter of coffee while 2nd layer will be Milk an 3rd Layer is the Froth Milk. It depends how the Barista like to have whether Milk contents more or the Froth Milk more.

While Machiato contains Coffee added with little spoon of Froth Milk.

FYI: for both coffee they will use Espresso Blend Coffee.

And I just found out when I have my Coffee time at Spinelli Cafe, China Square.

Haha..That's the first question that Jeanie asked once she saw my camera...

San2 & me had predicted that question earlier in the afternoon... So we figure it out how to answer her ... but anyway, no-one is going to bring laptop or USB to transfer, I asked her to give me her e-mail, it'll be much easier for us...

It was 30 August 2008, San2 and me decided to treat our Owner & Jeanie... Owner has bought us Birthday presents, and yet, we did not buy anything for him... just a birthday cake.

It was just nice the next day, which means today is Jeanie Birthday, so while we treat them, we celebrate Jeanie Birthday... Voila! Throw one stone kills 3 birds (*Indonesian Proverb)

So before we left to Clarke Quay, we took the birthday cake from Prima Deli... It took 40 minutes for us to reach CQ station, on the way there we were stopped by an attraction of Japanese guys carrying the lanterns... anyway, half interested, we decided to go straight to the Jumbo Restaurant as promised. It did not take a long time to queue since San2 had made booking in advance...

While waiting for Jeanie and Friends, 4 or us chosed our favorite foods first, so once they came the foods were ready. After a while, we decided to order 5 meats (Chicken, Oysters, Duck, Prawn, Crabs) and 2 vegetables... And it's a lot! Finally, the Birthday girl had arrived with a guy, that she claimed only 21 years old... really?

When I wanted to take picture of the foods, suddenly Jeannie stopped me:

Jeannie: Lenny, where is my pictures?

Sansan: wow, we have predicted the questions already...

Jeannie: So how?

Lenny: erm, like that a, may be you give me your e-mail so I can send you...

Jeannie: Ok... so you cannot escape a! hahahah

Lenny: :P

Anyway, one our foods arrived everyone kept their mouth shut and just eat, however, Jeannie's friend was not able to enjoy the food (*That Sad!) he had his dinner before he came... (*should have told us earlier ... hehehehe..)

Jeannie: Thank you a..

Owner: Nothing much la...

Jeannie: After fourty years, this is the first time he bought me a birthday present, hahaha

Sansan: really, oh my God, I think I also like that, have to wait for him (*pointing at Henckey) to give me present when I am fourty!

Jeannie: Maybe you never give present one...

Sansan: No lah, I always give him present every year...

Anyway, overral we love the food, it just the service from the staffs that made us dissapointed...

After a while we decided to take a walk near CQ, and thinking should we just sitting somewhere or not...

However, while thinking and deciding had made us walking a big circle of Boat Quay back to CQ... So finally we took our chance to go to Highlander Bar. I saw a lot of people, Caucasian, Asian that groupped into their own ... but we just decided to sit for a while and we went back home... we were so tired!
